MAKING A PURCHASE Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse through our web store, click on any items that you wish to purchase and add them into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on "Checkout" and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to satisfy the order.
Please note that your order must be placed on our website, as we do not accept telephone orders. You are welcome to place your order online and we can call you to take payment. (NOTE: We are unable to accept large payments over the telephone due to card issuer restrictions.)
We accept credit and debit card payments. We accept Visa, Mastercard Switch, Solo, Delta and Maestro. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet.
We accept cash sent by post but strongly recommend you use Royal Mail Special Delivery if Sending cash as this is insured against loss in transit.
Sorry, we no longer accept payment by cheque.
We also accept payments via Bank Transfers, this can be done with ease for those of you who have Internet banking. If you use this method, please ensure you enter your 8 digit order number in the bank transfer reference box when making your payment.
Payments Via Paypal You may also use accept Paypal as an optional payment method. However please note the Paypal payment notification is only about 99% accurate. There are instances when the correct payment signals do not travel between customers PC`s, Paypal`s systems and UKDVDR`s Servers. These are sometimes caused by different delivery addresses or email addresses being used, at other times this may be caused by delays in the Paypal checkout. In the rare instances that we do not receive payment notification from Paypal, we are unable to refund any delivery charges due to late dispatch. You should always receive ORDER DISPATCHED emails from us when order is complete, if in any doubt, please click here to contact us and check if payment has been received correctly. SHIPPING AND HANDLING
We are pleased to announce that our next day guarantee for Courier orders placed before 3pm is back. We will email you tracking information on the evening of despatch for Courier orders
Our next day guarantee service is for all orders placed before 3pm. This excludes orders which have any printing issues, such as entering incorrect details on the site when your order is placed, or in the unlikely case that we have oversold.
In the event that any of our goods are listed at an incorrect price due to typographical error, error in pricing information from our suppliers or due to any omission on our behalf or for any other reason whatsoever, we shall have the right to refuse to accept any order from you or to cancel any order received from you based on the incorrect price whether or not the order has been accepted. In either event we reiterate that an order will only be accepted by us as a legally binding contract once the goods ordered by you have been dispatched to you by us.
INTERNATIONAL ORDERS We are pleased to announce that we can now ship the following countries: Austria, France, Germany, Guernsey, Isle Of Man, Isle Of Wight, Italy, Jersey, Luxembourg, Northern Ireland, Portugal, Denmark, Republic of Ireland, Spain, Sweden.
Our VAT number is: GB 934 4129 29 If you are in the European Union you need to pay "VAT at Source" (this is listed as VAT on our website). We are a UK based retailer and any VAT due must be paid, if you are a business we advise you to reclaim the VAT paid from your local VAT office. We do not remove VAT from European business orders as we have been informed by our VAT office that we would have to be VAT registered in each European country we send business orders too, due to different VAT thresholds in various European countries. Because we are an UK online retailer (not Trade/Wholesale) we charge VAT and advise European businesses to reclaim this from their local VAT office if they wish to order. This means that you should not have to pay any "sales tax" when the items enters` your Country. If your Country has "personal import duty" then you may have to pay this, and this is your responsibility, Import Duty varies from Country to Country, if you are unsure, please consult your local Government Importation Office
We cannot send items to different country to the credit card billing address. IMPORTANT: ALL items shipped outside the UK are supplied without any warranty whatsoever. If you are seeking an item with warranty we suggest you purchase locally. This is due to our tiny profit margins and the huge costs involved in non UK shipping.
COLLECTING YOUR GOODS
Unfortunately we are no longer able to offer an orders collection desk at our premises. There have been several reasons why this decision has been made, however the primary reason is security, as we are a shared premises and our partner companies were unhappy at public access being granted to the building. We do sincerely apologise to local customers who used this facility. We will shortly be discussing reduced shipping to EH (and possibly surrounding) postcodes with our couriers, in an attempt to offer vastly reduced shipping fees for local customers.
Our website automatically calculates the weight of your order and will offer you the various shipping options available for your order. Out minimum shipping cost is £1.85 + VAT for Recorded delivery. Customers should be aware Royal Mail recorded delivery is NOT a next day service (although in many cases you goods will arrive on the next day).
All orders sent by Couriers use either City Link ( UK ) or Interlink ( Non UK ). We will email you the tracking number for your order upon dispatch. This will enable you to track your order online.
NOTE: Should the courier have to make a 3rd attempt at delivery (after 2 unsuccessful attempts), they may make an extra charge of £5 for this. (this can be avoided by collecting from their local depot). If the courier has to return the goods to ourselves due to there being nobody available to receive the order, you will be refunded the cost of your order MINUS the courier charges BOTH ways as Couriers charge us to return the goods to ourselves.
Failed Deliveries: We are charged £10 by the couriers for the return of ALL failed deliveries (ie. after two failed delivery attempts or non collection from their depot) and must pass this charge on to the customer. If your order has been classed as a failed delivery we can either re-send the order (at your cost) or issue a refund (for goods only less all shipping costs). For orders sent by Royal Mail there is no charge raised for the return, where appropriate the customer is still responsible for the shipping charge to re-send their order.
Liability, if the goods delivered are not what you ordered, are damaged, defective or the delivery is of an incorrect quantity, Should you have any cause to complain about your order you should contact us in writing (email) within ten working days, failure to do so may limit actions we can take to fulfil your claim.
If you notify a problem to us under this condition our obligations will be, (at your option) a) to make good any shortage or non-delivery, b) to replace or repair any goods that are damaged or defective, or c) to refund you the amount paid for the goods in question via same method as originally paid.
Save as precluded by law, we will not be liable to you for any indirect or consequential loss, damage or expenses (including loss of profits, business or goodwill) howsoever arising out of any problem/s you notify to us under this condition and we shall have no liability to pay any money to you by way of compensation other than to refund to you the amount paid by you for the goods in question under paragraph c) above. Our maximum liability shall always be limited to the amount you paid including any shipping charges.
*Cancelling an Order Under the EC Distance Selling Directive, you have the right to cancel the contract for your purchase within 7 working days of delivery. You do not need to give us any reason for cancelling your contract, nor will you have to pay any penalty. You cannot cancel your contract if the goods you have ordered are audio or video recording or computer software, and you have taken these items out of the sealed packages in which they were delivered to you.
To cancel a contract, please contact us byclicking here or by post (to address below) within seven working days following delivery. Package the items securely and send them to us with your order number written clearly on the outside and inside the package. The return address is:

We recommend that you use a recorded-delivery service. Note that you will be responsible for the costs of returning the goods to us unless we delivered the item to you in error. You should be aware that once we begin the delivery process, you will not be able to cancel any contract you have with us for services carried out by us (for example, postage and packing). When we receive the goods with the notice of your cancellation of this order, we will refund the relevant part of the purchase price for that item.
Once you have notified us that you are cancelling your contract, any relevant sum debited to us from your credit card will be re-credited to your account as soon as possible and in any event within 30 days of your order. If you do not return the goods delivered to you or do not pay the costs of delivery, we shall be entitled to deduct the direct costs of recovering the goods from the amount to be re-credited to you
*Changing Orders ie switching, adding or deleting items. Our system is fully computerised. The moment an order is received, it is immediately digitally sent to our order fulfilment company. They immediately process and pack the order. Once packed it is passed to citylink (who have a mini depot within our building) that take possession of the parcel and then ship it to their national hub in Birmingham (otherwise it gets collected by Royal Mail). This highly automated system is ideal for processing our huge order volumes. The only pitfall with this system is that we have no way to intercept it to make any amendment. With this in mind please ensure that when you press your SUBMIT ORDER button that your cart contains the exact quantities and goods required as we will be unable to make any changes whatsoever.
TAX CHARGES
All our prices shown are inclusive of VAT at the current rate of 17.5%.
CREDIT CARD SECURITY We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. All credit card processing is handled by SECPAY. Secpay are approved by all High St Banks due to their high security encryption. Secpay is integrated into our site. All Credit Card information is processed by SECPAY. UKDVDR do not even get to see your card details. For your added protection, UKDVDR reserve the right to insist on orders to be shipped to the registered cardholders address. This is for the protection of the genuine cardholder and only normally happens when an order is flagged as potential fraud.

PRIVACY UKDVDR are aware that you the customer are concerned as to what happens with personal information. We respect your privacy and treat all information as private and confidential, we will only use information supplied by you for the purpose of internal accounts, delivery of goods and for us to keep in contact with you from time to time regarding your order progress. We may also use this information for improving our quality of service and inform you of promotional deals we are offering. We do not and will not sell or release information provided by you to any other third parties, except when in connection with your orders, or in exceptional cases of debt recovery, unless required by law.
RETURNS POLICY
In the unlikely event that you have to return any products to us you should be aware of the following.
Please click here to contact us with any problems. This helps us both have a record of events. We always answer emails in order they are received and as soon as practically possible. Our staff who answer the telephones are mainly trained to take telephone payments and have little knowledge of various media issues such as media compatibility or firmware`s configuration etc. You will get a quicker and more informed response if you contact us via email.
All items are covered by our RTB warranty (unless stated otherwise) RTB = Return To Base (Customer is responsible for return carriage costs). We are not liable for any carriage costs in returning the goods for inspection. Please return goods using either standard parcels service or preferably delivery service with tracking and insurance cover, we are only responsible for the goods after we receive them. Please ensure you obtain a certificate of posting (this is free of charge) which will serve as your proof of posting should royal mail mislay your parcel, We will refund reasonable return postage costs on FAULTY items that are returned to us within 30 days or purchase. NOTE: We will not refund any return postage costs for any items shipped outside the UK.
We only accept returns clearly labelled with a valid RMA number on the OUTSIDE of the package. Please contact us for an RMA number before returning any goods. RMA=Return Merchandise Authorisation. You must contact us for an RMA number, telephone staff do not have the authority to issue these numbers. RMA`s are issued for specific products only. Please do not send other items not covered by the RMA. Any returned packages that do not clearly display a valid RMA number will be refused, as will packages received over 14 days from RMA issue date.
Media: If you encounter any problems with the media that we sell please stop using the media immediately and contact us, if you continue to use the media and continue to have disc failures we are not liable for the "burnt" media with which you have had problems. Most problems with media are usually related to hardware, firmware compatibility and setup and is not usually the media which is defective. We get countless emails from people who buy the cheapest media expecting it to work in all DVD players who think they have `Faulty` media. The media is usually not faulty but simply incompatible with their hardware. Please bear this in mind when purchasing media. Budget media is hardly ever as universally compatible as quality media. If you want virtually universal compatibility, we always recommend using media with a quality dye i.e. RITEK.
Alleged `Faulty Media`. Most customers who experience trouble burning media always leap to the conclusion that the media must be faulty in some way. In over 95% of these cases the fault lies elsewhere in their setup, or the media is simply incompatible, not defective. In cases where the customer is adamant that the media is faulty, we have the following test procedure that we follow. We have 5 test writers here (different makes) and 10 test DVD players. We usually burn 5 discs, 1 in each writer (or in extreme cases 10 discs) then test each disc in each DVD player. We then compare the results to a previous test using the same media (or we run a new test with same media from different batch of the same media and compare results). If the media does not show as defective in our test, we will only replace unused media. note: The only media that usually writes in all writers and plays in all players is media that uses Ritek dye. Other dyes are generally not as universally compatible as Ritek.
We will gladly credit or refund on unused media which is returned to us within 30 days of purchase in original condition egg. no fingerprints, scratches or dirt on the discs. This includes goods ordered in error. Goods ordered in error still need a valid RMA.
If discs are returned in a state which makes them unusable then they will be returned back to you and postage costs will be charged. If you return items back we will inspect the items to ensure they are in original condition and telephone or email you to confirm this.
All returned goods must be securely packed and in an unused condition. We suggest you use a service that can provide "proof of delivery". We will not be liable for items lost or damaged in transit back to us.
OUT OF STOCK ITEMS: Out of stock items are normally automatically removed from our site. Whilst we make every effort to ensure our website is always accurate with it`s stock monitoring, there are rare occasions when the website will have an incorrect stock figure. If you order an item that is out of stock, you would be refunded for that item to the same credit card that you used to place the order. We do not have facilities to place items on backorder. We also do not always know when an item would be back into stock. Most customers prefer an instant refund which would enable them to source their goods elsewhere if required urgently.
Damaged Goods: You should inspect the goods for damages when you receive them. If the package you receive looks like it may be damaged or has been tampered with you should refuse the package or mark the courier`s sheet to show this (if you do sign to accept the package).If the goods are found to be damaged prior to delivery to you then we will replace or refund the price paid. If you find any damages you must inform us by email (click here to contact us) within 48hrs (preferably immediately on the same day you receive them). We will make a note of the order number when you phone, You will then need to contact us listing any damages/shortages. We will try to resolve this ASAP. Our telesales staff will not be able to resolve these issues as support are located in a separate building. We cannot be held responsible for damages reported after 48hrs of receipt.
Clearance Items: Clearance items are exempt from any warranty
Hardware: Any hardware (DVD Recorders etc) with flashed firmware will not be accepted for return. They will be tested on arrival and if found to have modified firmware, will be returned to you at your expense. If you have "flashed" or modified the firmware in your hardware and experience problems we advise you to return it to the manufacturer for repair or replacement under the manufacturer`s warranty.
Your statutory rights are not affected
Remittance Terms: All goods remain the property of UKDVDR.co.uk until paid for in full. TRADE MARKS & LOGOS All Trade Marks & Logos used on this web store belong to their respective owners, and we will comply, acknowledge and respect the owner`s wishes as and when requested.
